Locking Cap Code

1106.3.1 Refrigerant Service Ports. Refrigerant service ports located outdoors shall be fitted with a locking-type tamper-resistant caps or shall be protected from unauthorized access by means acceptable to the Enforcing Agency.

2010 California Mechanical Code now requires that refrigerant service ports be protected with a locking-type tamper-resistant cap. C&D locking refrigerant caps comply with all aspects of the new code. For more information C&D locking caps please go to

Flexible Air Duct Length Limitations

603.4.1 Length Limitation. [Not permitted for OSHPD 1, 2, 3, & 4] Factory-made flexible air ducts and connectors shall be not more than 5 feet (1524 mm) in length and shall not be used in leiu of rigid elbows or fittings.

Exception: Residential occupancies.
